The Islamification of America – One Nation, One Constitution

America has always welcomed immigrants who embrace our founding ideology and supporting documents, not replace it. Pew Research Center estimated about 3.45 million Muslims lived in the U.S. in 2017 projected to reach 8.1 million, or 2.1% of Americans, by 2050. Growth itself is not the problem. The First Amendment protects every citizen's right to worship, and we should defend that right for Muslims as fiercely as for anyone. The real question is whether we live under one law, the Constitution, or let alternative, foreign beliefs quietly replace what so many have fought to protect.

Congress has started asking that same question. In February, Rep. Chip Roy led a House Judiciary subcommittee hearing on whether political Islam and Sharia law are compatible with the Constitution. His verdict was direct, “The principles of Sharia go completely against the Constitution.” Concerns escalated after EPIC City, which critics call a Sharia-centered compound, surfaced in Texas, and Gov. Greg Abbott signed laws banning Sharia law and Sharia compounds. By June, the Sharia-Free America Caucus had grown to 68 members. Their argument is simple, which is no religious beliefs should override our due process, equal treatment of women, or any U.S. citizen’s rights.

There is also a double standard in the media and in Washington. When Rep. Roy held a May hearing on Sharia, Democrats dismissed it as a conspiracy theory rooted in bigotry, and CAIR has branded such concerns a “sharia hoax.” Rep. Wesley Hunt answered that “scrutinizing extremism is not racism”. Many conservatives were also frustrated on January 1, when Zohran Mamdani was sworn in as New York's first Muslim mayor using the Quran, receiving significant criticism. We should hold every official, of any faith, to one test, which is do their policies honor and support the Constitution?

The answer is not hostility and violence toward our Muslim neighbors but confidence in the principles that made us one nation. Article VI declares the Constitution the supreme law of the land, tying every courtroom, city council, and school board equally together. What this means is that we need to insist on Muslims transitioning into a life that supports our laws, enforces a single standard of justice, and refuses to let any worldview write itself into public law. America's greatness has never come from erasing faith, but from uniting believers of every kind under one flag and one Constitution. Let's keep it that way.
