Throughout history, governments, whether monarchies, pure democracies, dictatorships, oligarchies, communists, and even our beloved constitutional republic have struggled in various ways to fully understand and embrace the God-given rights we as humans possess that are written in the Declaration of Independence – Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
These various governments have tried to metaphorically put on clothes that just don’t fit them. In other words, they have tried to speak for our Creator himself and determine whether their citizens can actually possess those freedoms.
For thousands of years governments have sponsored and even dictated things like child and adult sacrifices, rules/laws that only benefit the powerful, ensuring the majority serve the minority, slavery, and determining whether certain people groups can pursue a positive way of living.
In fact, even the nation of Israel, God’s people, struggled with this thousands of years ago when all the surrounding nations had kings and they did not – they had God. Instead of simply serving the Creator, they wanted desperately to “keep up with the Joneses” and have a king. God gave them what they wanted and their first king was Saul. He struggled to follow God and cost Israel greatly. David was the next king and had his ups and downs. Over a couple hundred years they had king after king and rode the rollercoaster of God’s blessing and judgement until they were taken over and forced into lives of servitude.
Too often we see political leaders struggle with doing the right thing and allowing its citizens the ability to experience true freedom…true liberty. It is what drove our Founders to revolt against the English tyrannical rule.
The issue is that we were not created to be lorded over, told what to do, and to be used to serve a government. Remember – Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
Today, the radical left is using language and attempting to normalize a belief that our aforementioned rights are given by the government. Patriots, that simply is not true. God has given us our rights, and our Founders believed this down to their bones. There is a reason why the Constitution puts more restraints on the government itself than on the citizens.
The story of America is unique, which is why our citizens are unlike any others around the world. The promise of America is real and it is why so many still flock to its shores from all over the world and want to become a citizen. I’ve meet people from Ethiopia, England, and the Netherlands just in the last year that all immigrated and became citizens because of its promise.
Here is the issue though. Every country in the world has the same potential but actively chooses to determine, legislate, and downright bully its citizens by removing the freedoms there were given at conception. Our freedoms are not unique, it is the way we are allowed to live them out that is.
We cannot allow liberals to misguide and misinform the public by attempting to get them believe that they are the key holders to our freedoms. God is the one who gives those to us. As the Declaration of Independence pointed out, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights.” Humans are not meant to block, stop, or determine whether they are admissible or not.
Patriots, I urge you to stay vigilant and educate your friends. Help them understand that the liberal agenda is focused on miseducation while believing they have the right to play God. The truth is that God gave us something and now we have to protect it.
