I think it is safe to say that Tuesday, November 5th was INCREDIBLE. America clearly spoke. The majority is tired of radical leftist ideas while corporate media feeds us lies to drive their agendas down our throats.
Our hardworking citizens are not stupid. They clearly have seen the last four years of an administration with zero regard for their safety, border security, decorum, financial well-being, or simply doing what is right instead of caving in and doing what is wrong.
Thanks be to God for giving us another chance to right the ship!
The big question is, “Where do we go from here?”
I will tell you where we do not go. The last thing our country needs is all of us putting this all in the face of our family and friends who voted on the left side. Telling them, “I told you so!” and trying to get them to understand is not the way. This is where we must be different and handle ourselves with a humble focus on what is to come.
The reality is that we have a fractured nation that could not be more polarized than it is right now.
I remember years ago when the wristbands touting “WWJD” were popular. Let us ask ourselves that same question now. What would Jesus do? I can tell you He would NOT flaunt the election results. Instead, he would continue to love people, speak truth, whether convenient or not, and continue leading people into His kingdom.
That is what we must do. Let me be clear because this is not for the faint of heart. In order for us to impact the people in our circles who are shaken by the election, we must be bold in our faith without forcing it down peoples’ throats.
Asking questions like:
- Can I pray with you right now?
- What are you most afraid of?
- How can I help you?
- What is it you want to say that no one is listening to?
Questions like these will open the door for you to listen to understand and then possibly share what or who has helped you when you’ve felt that way.
I am disappointed when I see families spilt or people lose long term friends over the results of an election.
It is also a time for us to rise up and get off the sidelines and into the game. How can you get more involved in your local governments? Where can you volunteer? There are so many options whether it is with your police department, local government, civic organizations, or inner city foodbanks. You CAN get involved….but will you?
I am reminded of George Bernard Shaw’s famous poem “A Splendid Torch”:
This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.
I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community, and as long as I live it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can.
I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no “brief candle” for me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations.
What if it isn’t about us? Instead, what if God has us all here for such a time as this? What if we could use the election results to get deeply involved locally, and be a light or even a Splendid Torch to those who feel upset, scared, forgotten, or alone?
Am I excited and hopeful about the next four years? Absolutely! However I can promise that like you, I have people in my circles that are not. I highly doubt that God would have me further distance myself from them instead of finding ways to bring them closer to Him.
I realize that this is a bit of a different post than what I have shared throughout 2024, but I truly believe that now is a sensitive time in our nation that God has given us to stand up, get involved, make a difference, and impact those closest to us in ways that we might have never been able to.
Let us rise up Patriots, and find opportunities to use this window of time to impact the people around us like never before.
